Hey Rick! How wud u handle a venue where the rental facility won't allow u to use tripod stands? I played a gig where the owners were in litigation because a speaker was pushed over and beaned sum1 in the noggan. They told me I cudn't use my tri's about an hr b4 the christmas party began. Nice, rite? I had to put my 15" acoustics on the floor, ha ha! Needless to say, sound was crap! I'm pretty resourceful wen it comes to last minute problem solving, but this was ridiculous. Any tips?

@DJMoJoeOnline look at gemini, they dont sound great but its alot of bang for your buck.

The cheapest powered sub I know of from a reputable mfg. is the ELX118P from Electro-Voice which agiprodj sells (and no I don't work for them). Initial reports from actual end users seem encouraging. For about the same price used you can pick up HPR181i's and they are a proven workhorse but heavy and IIRC, awkward handle placement.

@loltjhful For the purpose of using speakers remotely, the receiver goes on a remote speaker (or the receiving speaker), the transmitter goes on the speaker that is closest to you that you want to transmit audio from.

i dont tink latinos care of the perfect sound. they just whant sound anything, they dont care if it sounds good or not unless they can get it all for cheep.. they only think of getting the cheepest way not how is gonna sound.

@YORKPEPPER That's understandable. But with wireless, it's not so much that something will sound good or bad, but rather the cheaper wireless systems will experience drop outs when there is either no sound, or interruption of sound. In either case that is never a good thing.

so you own the k 8's, k 10's and k12's and two subs?....why all that then?....i get that u like two subs...but why the 8's 10's and 12's?....wouldnt have been better to just get the 12's then?....

@DjBobbyLosAngeles The K8, K10 and K12 have different wave coverage patterns, SPL's, low frequency responses, and weights. It depends on the events that you do. There are many events I do where a K8 is hands down the better speaker than the K12.
