@scalliwagrx8 Power does not increase, actually you loose some due to inefficiencies, torque does increase though (which is good :)) I just built my own, and had a few questions.
1. How do you deal with unevenly distributed weight? Does your motor kick?
2. How heavy a pig did you roast?
3. Where did you get the gears/pulleys and other materials?
Great vid!

With this moter you can turn 30 lambs!!!!!!!!!!!
-
you need air to keep the fire burning, pig should be close to the fire as possible
-
hey man where did u get the gears?
-
what was hp rating of that motor??????
-
Did you ever do the "lazy man's set up" video?
-
@mandykal - those are nylon which is fairly heat resistant. It is kept around 250f which is well below it's melting point. Be sure to check out the vid since I now use an antique clawfoot bathtub. It is a lot neater setup

thoses plastic tires, did it melt??

you don't want slower than 3-4 rpm for a pig roast. you can burn it!

Just buy a 2rpm from grainger

I'm looking for the same motor. Can you make one for me? How much is it? Thanks.

Buying the motor new is expensive. I suggest finding the lowest rpm motor you can pick up cheap on eBay with enough power to handle it. Keep in mind when you use the pulley system to reduce rpm it increases the power. So you can get by with a small motor as long as you reduce it enough to where it will turn the pig.
