At least the blades weren't launched, and thank god no one was near it....

PVC is ok for testing, but their lifespan is pretty poor. The best I ever got was 19 months of lifespan in a high wind area.
I made a couple of sets of blades from aluminium pipe, 3 mm wall thickness, and they are still going strong after 7 years. I really thought they would have failed before that, but they have stood the test of time.
Give aluminium a try, I think you will be impressed.

OMG! This video made my day! This is one of the funniest things I've seen in a long time. The noise of the plastic blades hitting the ground is the best part!

they look like pvc blades,thats probably why the broke,been there done that,never again with pvc,to dangerous.

put a shock absorber on the tail, so it can pivit slightly

that's why I made mine a VAWT instead. The blades can't bend back and contact the pole.
