This Project was done by my wife Her Description:
I started this project five years ago as a search for the good that people can do with their hands. At that time in my life I was overcome with grief with the un-Godly things that people can do with their hands, not excluding my own. Through this healing process, I brought my camera with me everywhere I went. As I explained my project, I was granted the permission of family and friends and even strangers to photograph their hands. The following poem came to me about one year after I started collecting the photographs.
Gods Hands

Do you hold Gods hand
as each day begins?
Do you show His hands to others?

Do you let Him guide
your hands in everything
you do
as you work,
as you play,
as you give,
as you celebrate,
as you teach,
as you share,
as you serve,
as you comfort,
as you pray,
as you rest,
as you worship,
as you grow?

Grab hold.
His hands are reaching out to you.
Dont let go.
Dont pull away.

Through the day
when His light shines on you
when the sun goes down,
and through the night,
Walk with Him as he guides you.

Do you let Gods hands hold you
in everything you do
as you work,
as you play,
as you give,
as you celebrate,
as you teach,
as you share,
as you serve,
to comfort you
when you pray,
when you rest,
when you worship,
so you can grow?

Let Him embrace you.
His hands are reaching out to you.

I give God the glory for every special memorable moment that was wrapped around and preserved in each photo. Please note that while most of the photographs were taken by myself, there are several that were taken by other family members and friends.
I want to share with you of one of the countless special moments where God proved him self real to me during this project. One evening while I was going through the photos I had acquired already, I thought it would be wonderful to have a photo of Christs hands on the cross. I didnt know how I would get this photo without a reenactment of some sort, or so I thought. The very next day I was driving past a church in Millville that I drove past almost weekly. I pulled aside to take photos of the steeple but thought the narrow busy street wasnt a safe place to park. I turned the corner to park on another street and found a small statue that I had never noticed before this day. There in a small garden tucked back away from the road was a statue of Jesus on the Cross. This garden and statue may be found next to St. Marys church in Millville.
The songs that I included were written just this past year. One day while crying in my car, I turned the radio on to lighten my spirit. The first song I heard asked me why I was crying. I was blessed by the words of this song and immediately decided to add it to my project. The song is titled By Your Side. The second song is Love is Here. Both songs are by Tenth Avenue North. This project is In Memory of my cousin David Sokol, my grandfather Donald Breeden, the fisherman, Albert Moore, who accepted Christ shortly before his parting and Harry Shaw, a steel guitar musician, all who are able to see more of Gods Hands than we can imagine. • My wife started this project after noticing her grandfathers hands in a photo she took and started thinking about all the things they had done. There are photos in the project of the hands of several people that have now passed on. Ecclesiastes 9:10 Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.

  • This means a lot to me. I am a father of six children; a carpenter; and a sign language interpreter. About a year-and-a-half ago, God placed a burden/ a calling/ an anointing on me to start a deaf ministry at the church where I already am an assistant pastor. I argued with God that my limited knowledge of sign language and my arthritis would prevent me from successfully ministering to the deaf. God, who formed my hands, supernaturally gave me the understanding of sign language, gave me free mob

  • Beautiful, Thank You.
