A start-up of a family friend's Toyota Camry. Same owner as the BMW 740i and Honda LaGreat in my previous videos. This is the Asian Toyota Camry, based on the Australian-market Toyota Aurion. It looks more sedate rather than the sportier-looking USDM Toyota Camry. This is also the pre-facelift Camry 2.4V, the facelifted model comes with keyless entry and start rather than the conventional key. In Malaysia (the facelifted model), it's available with two engines and three trim levels;

The base 2.0E (no leather/HID xenon lights, 16-inch wheels)
The mid-range 2.0G (leather with HID xenon lights, 16-inch wheels)
The top level 2.4V (leather with HID xenon lights, keyless entry and start, 17-inch wheels)

  • WHAT THE !!!

    I can't believe the FACE like AURION

    the name is CAMRY

    WHICH EDITION IS This car ???

  • @KSAzone The South-East Asian Camry is based off the Aurion. The looks all come from the Aurion.

  • thanks alex. we're still thinking of the 2.0 or 2.4. my mum only drives it to the sundry shop and back. haha. but we dont change cars often, so 2.4 is in the list. the reason we didnt want the accord is because we currently own two hondas. the honda service is just ridiculous. and their QC is bad as well. also, when we test drove the accord, the 2.0 has the 'wee-wee' sound intruding the cabin when u step on the accelerator and both the 2.0 and 2.4 where nowhere near as comfortable as the camry.

  • I see. haha. I kinda don't have a problem with Honda's service, it's fast and reliable (better than BMW's). =) Haven't driven the Camry yet, but up to you. It's your family's decision in the end. what honda's do you have btw?

  • really? BMWs service aint up to the mark? Well dad has a company Accord (10yrs old) and mum has a city - around the same age. after so many years of servicing with honda - diff centres, they're not good. will go check out the accord again before we buy it. 2.0vti-l is enough for the accord, engine is responsive. camry, 2.4 would be the better choice.

  • AB is a bit sneaky and plus they change parts of the car before informing the customer. my mum's bmw, they changed something to do with the steering (it cost about RM600+) and they didn't consult us before changing. we sent the car for other problems, not the steering. only the service department, i don't really like. other departments are ok (like sales). i see. yea, i drove the 2.0 and it has sufficient power. same engine as my cr-v, but the power feels better in the accord.

  • My dad got the 2.0 version and I did tested the 2.4 and for both, I hate the lack of power, transmission, that stupid vvt-i engine and exhaust. And exhaust it got a lot of problems, too.

  • @alexlovesmac the north american camry looks different and doesnt come with hid headlamps

  • Is that a Perodua Kelisa I spot?

  • Yea. I like the car too, but the Accord looks sportier. I also do like the new Kias and Hyundais, both are really stepping up their game.
