Another thought sdfhgjklhdfjlsg,
Beethoven, in his letters speaks of how he disliked associating terms like Adagio with tempo and sometimes these terms don't reflect tempo but other musical ideas. The autograph still exists so that helps us to understand his tempo intentions. Google Schiff guardian uk to hear his master classes.

Thanks for your comments sdfhgjklhdfjlsg. Mr. Gardizi plays everything really well and I am a fan of his. I am speaking of Beethoven's obvious intentions on tempo. His student Czerny states, "The alla breve measure being indicated, the whole must be played in moderate Andante time." Czerny states 54bpm.
You should check out my playing. I am no Mr.Gardizi but I play some of the same music. Peace!

That's a interesting comment. Beethoven thought of a "Sonata quasi una fantasia" (ADAGIO sostenuto:), so let's let the fantasy play and please don't compare this to cartoons ...:) Mr. Gardizi did really well...just listen...the alla breve already swings!

I love Nageeb Gardizi's playing but this has what Schiff calls, a thick layer of false tradition on it. Beethoven indicates cut time, moderate andante time, alla breve. Played this slow it brings on the zzzzzzzzz feeling. Search You Tube for Muppets Victor Borge to see what I mean and listen to Perahia play it!
What's with the glissando's?

i've never heard it like this...great!
This is just beautiful. My favorite Beethoven.
I could listen to this for hours and not get tired of it.

I wouldn't judge his playing by the poor audio signal.
