My Dearest Dear - Myrna Rose "Soprano at the Piano"

American soprano Myrna Rose, a native of Athens, Georgia, took the United Kingdom by storm as a celebrity on BBC Television and Radio,singing solo performances with the BBC Orchestra for more than a decade in the British Isles, Near East, Middle East and Far East. She was a favorite of British audiences, as well as the armed forces she gracefully entertained in ALL STAR performances throughout the world.

Affectionately referred to as; "Our OWN American Beauty Rose," MYRNA had her own show on BBC Radio called "SOUNDS NEW: MUSIC FROM OPERA TO ELLA," which showcased her mastery of the Broadway, operetta and opera genres to millions of weekly listeners.

Her spectacular vocal command and versatility garnered the acclaim of the LONDON TIMES to say: "This glorious soprano voice is perhaps the best voice in the world today."

Myrna's meteoric rise as a newcomer in the U.K. caught the ear of the great Welsh tenor
and comedian, Sir Harry Secombe (OLIVER!). Miss Rose joined Sir Harry in contracts offered by the PHILLIPS record label. Be it Gershwin, Porter, Berlin, Lehar, or Herbert,
this duo was untouchable in their affecting studio and solo recordings of the world's greatest melodies.

A Royal Command Performance before the Queen of England and the Royal Family at the Prince of Wales Theater is a high point of the career Miss Rose continues today this side of the pond.

This video is one of a series recorded at the WGTV public television studio at the University of Georgia, to be broadcast as their late night 11:00 signoff songs. Each song was played every night for a month.
