www.filmmaker8.com - Your 16mm resource! The film used was Kodak Vision2 50D 7201. The camera used was an Éclair ACL 2 with a Nikon 17-35mm f/2.8D IF-ED lens with a .06 ND filter. IMHO Kodak 50D is absolutely beautiful film stock and I plan on shooting more of it in the future!

  • The flickering is caused by a timing issue with your camera. Paul Scaglione at Visual Products can fix it for you. The adjustment requires removing the oscillating mirror. Paul had s bunch of mirrors made up a while back specifically for the flicker repair. Also, I've never had an issue with my Nikons on my ACL. They work great!

  • If you want to see a good copy of this check out Vimeo. YouTube sucks real bad...

  • nice looking footage - love that film! hey, are you ever having any issues with using your nikons like flickering in the upper corners or blown-out spots in the center of the image? i've had a lot of footage nearly ruined recently using my nikons on my ACL.

also, just curious where you have your camera serviced?

  • NOTHING BEATS FILM

  • @12ampvacuum Crop factor: it goes without saying. :-) The 17-35 is, presumably, a DX lens. The DX frame is probably twice as wide as the s16mm frame. Therefore, a crop factor of about 2x sounds right.

  • that looks great! How'd you put the nikon on it? isn't there a bit of crop factor shooting on 16mm with the nikon lens?

    Thanks!

  • I also use an Eclair ACLII (converted to S16) and every once in a while I get feeling kind of lazy and start thinking about all the effort and expense of film. But all I have to do is look at some footage and realize that the color, softness and organic quality of film can never be duplicated using digital capture. It's just another world altogether. I hope your uploads can get people interested in using film.

  • "To achieve the "film Look"......use FILM!!!!" lol
