Back again! Another unproductive day but I've decided to be happy with any wordcount from this point on. I hit 50K and I'm not going to be ungrateful for anything extra that I write on top of that, dammit. So yeah, not much in the way of progress, I need to do some more serious thinking and planning, but any extra novel is always good!

Excerpt:

----

"What are their names?" she asked, half-turning her head back into the room.

Turning his head enough to see her where she stood, Cole simply stared and did not respond.

"Tell me, or Marius will have to make use of your pretty little friend in order to convince you."

Marius' eyes seemed to light up and for the first time Cole recognised that Kristiana was the true leader of the coven; the male was simply the second-in-command, not unlike a Beta himself.

As much as he wanted to protect his parents, keep them from being manipulated, there was no way he would stand by and let the male vampire attack Elsabeth in any way. With a sickened sensation flooding down to consume his gut, he said, closing his eyes, "Theodore and Emily." The wolf's indignation flashed outward, swallowing his brain, and he felt his eyes burn and the roots of his hair shift once again. It could rise no higher, progress no further. The wolf could not take form and it roared, frustrated, within him. Cooperating with vampires, with the same vampires who had killed two members of the pack — perhaps more; they had no idea how the fight in the forest had ended or how many had fallen — was more painful to him than any of the wounds he had sustained. Opening his eyes, he saw first Marius' disappointment and Elsabeth's regret and then Kristiana's satisfaction. Passing the information along to the male she had grasped on his way past, she stepped back into the room. The doors closed behind her, sealing them inside, revealing the guardians still standing in place.

As she passed him, Kristiana reached out with a hand and stroked the side of Cole's face. He recoiled with a grimace, even as she said, "You see, cooperation is not so bad, hmm?" He glared, focusing all his hatred and everything else negative on her. In response to that anger and revulsion, she only smiled confidently. "I feel we will be seeing your parents very soon. I look forward to meeting them." Tilting her head curiously, she asked, "Tell me, what are they like?"

Cole growled in response, no words, only that harsh, guttural sound.

That's almost the entirety of what I wrote today :O I did cut a bit off the beginning so hopefully that doesn't read strangely or anything. But until tomorrow guys, keep on writing and good luck! HEARTS!

  • Hi there, hon! <3 Thanks so much, and yeah, I'm so HUNGRY lately; we've figured out that it's a winter thing -- I'm using up more energy keeping warm so I need to eat more, if that makes sense?

Congrats on 40K, that's awesome! :D You'll have to let me know how much you did during the whole day. I love having whole days to do nothing but write, it's so relaxing and rewarding <3
