Earth Wind & Fire- New World Symphony/ Bass Solo

a pass at my imperfect version of verdine white's very cool solo on the live instrumental 'new world symphony' from the gratitude album. played on my (dirty) old stingray, through a practice amp, tone rolled back, using built-in computer camera and mic... i'll try to get it together to do better all around next time.

i've just become an instant fan, i've loved this song for ages and that solo was always my favorite, my only regret was never seeing Verdine play it live. Your cover fills the void, since i can't play, that was incredible.

thank you, glad you liked it. i always LOVED to listen to that solo... now came back to it years later and managed to pick out some of it...

i made it to the '76 ewf tour in oakland, after gratitude was released, so i'm lucky in that way...

ok, now try and imagine this- verdine playing it, or anything, sitting down... ... ... ok now stop trying, cause it's not ever happening lol

Nice bass cover. Tonight I just finished watching "Shining Stars", the EWF documentary here on youtube. It got me thinking about this very song. It is heavily jazz-influenced and it is probably what stirred my early interest in jazz.

Next month I will turn 57. I have always wanted to play bass. I ordered one yesterday and will soon learn to play.
