no its a normal 10 year overhaul for the boiler and as mayflower is the hardest to run (crew needed) we are using this time to bring it back to a good standard i.e hull paint and engine we would of been doing all this even if the museum was open
the boiler is from the steam tug mayflower that the museum got, the boiler was out for its 10 overhaul so we used the steam crane to lift the boiler out on to the wagon for the work to be done then in august we put the boiler back in the mayflower
