Sibley MAX Theater. Vintage Projection booth and a behind the scenes look.

Once a Single Screen Theater built in 1919, the Max theater today is a two screen theater providing double features.
The theater is a real treat in this small town and to the small towns around us. It always has the very latest shows.
This antique building and theater has quite a history.

In the old days bed sheets where used but got dirty due to smoking and had to be taken down and washed. Plastic perforated screens never came around till 1950’s

Film today looks cool when melted like plastic toast.

Lacing-up in small booth is tight I prefer a bit of space to move around.

The red LED replaced the exciter lamp that was an ordinary bulb that shines light onto a photo-cell that translates the SVA into an analogue soundtrack that we hear as sound.

if i own that place i would make it a lot better... not ruining it... just repair some stuff... more art deco style and put posters of old and new movies around the place.
