50 grams of copper oxide thermite confined loosely between two plastic cups. ignited with magnesium mixed with black powder and visco fuse. 4:1 ratio. the brown cloud seen is very fine copper metal in the air, as when the reaction occurs, the copper that is formed is vapourized by the intense heat

  • I really enjoy this reaction, ive done it several times in person. good film of it.

  • I applaud this lightly.

  • Be CAREFUL with CuO2. that copper vapour can do real dammage if you breathe it in.
