The metal Flapstopper features a patented over toggle action that permits it to close off and remain closed even in the event of a catastrophic incident on the site which damages the control panel and removes power.
When in standby mode the Flapstopper™ acts like a standard non-return flap valve, however, in the event of a fire the Flapstopper™ can be activated manually or by auto-integration with your sites fire alarm system to forcibly close against a flow from the normally permitted direction to effectively block the drain converting it to a large capacity containment vessel to capture the contaminated foam and firewater. This toxic material can then be safely sucked out of the drain and disposed of safely, returning the Flapstopper™ back to it's standby mode.
