Indonesia's policy of sending drug users to prisons instead of rehabilitation centres has resulted in about 70 per cent of inmates reportedly dying of AIDS-related illness mainly spread through the sharing of dirty needles by drug users.

  • its not like most indonesian are infected with AIDS. this isn't africa you know. the prevalence in Indonesia amounts to only 0.02% of the population.

  • Another stupid war on drugs...the only way to stop addiction is through treatment not stupid religious dogma.

  • Too many convicts in Indooneesia (you hear crime news on every single day).

  • DivineJudge, Do you think there are jugs of bleach just sitting around this prison? Aids is planned genocide:third world country/drugs/aids/death through depopulation. These countries are easy targets because the people are mostly uneducated, poor & condoms, needle exchange programs, ect, are not going to be implemented due to cost & social taboos. I wonder what will come next...

  • Clean the needles with bleech if you must.

However, I can see how the government would like to see these people die. Rather than treat the problem.

  • Huh? genocide? How?

  • This is bull shit, it's plan genocide as they do to Africa.

  • Prison full of young men. The people who put them there obviously feel important to lock up young men.
