this movie here lacked of an anamorphic lens in between during conversion, those known as "CinemaScope"

The Kid wrote this jobby back in 1925, if I'm not mistaken. One of my favorite Dixieland tunes ever. And by the way, all you trolls worried about precious race purity can forget it - this cat was a mix and a half, no worries about that garbage as far as he was concerned. Just listen to the brilliance, man...

Genial, muchas gracias.

Thanks for this, can't get enough of Kid. The folks complaining about it being too white don't know about Creoles, eh? Better to keep your mouth shut and let people think you're a fool than to open your mouth and confirm it.

I realize this is blasphemy but I'd rather hear/see the Carling Family with 9 year old Gunhild playing the trombone part. This is good, however.
-
I didnt see any race in the music. Funny how some people see that.
-
For those who don't appear to know it, Kid Ory was an African American...he's playing the trombone; he wrote the tune in 1926. Can't tell he's black by looking? So much the better! Genius is not a question of skin color.
-
well he wrote it, regardless of whiteness
-
It was not Joes song and he's not so smart to think so
-
yeah, also that person probably doesn't realize that Kid Ory was a member of Satchmo's Hot Five in the, was it, the late 20s? One of the most important African American groups in music history. And the above drummer looks like a black man to me...this music transcends the racial divide--I hope.
Priceless -- thank you for making this available. Commenter who said it's "too white" just doesn't get the music. It's got Black roots and caucasian roots--it's multiracial, American music, period.

Makes me wish I was born 20 years earlier for sure. Can't imagine stepping into a hall and seeing this!
