The Hilux is designed more for work, ruggedness, and off-roading as opposed to comfort and convenience as in the Taco. The frame is stronger as is the suspension. The engine and transmission choices are designed more for practicality. Oh, and most importantly, the Hilux looks much schmexier than the Taco.

@taitai907 Aren't the Tacoma and Hilux basically the exact same truck? I know the Hilux has a diesel engine option, but that's the only difference I can think of other than looks.
