Thirty-fourth video. Everyone knew this was coming, right? Haha. A change from my usual video game music (and only my 2nd choral/classical piece), Revenge! Timotheus Cries is an aria by one George Frederic Handel. It was the first Handel piece that I had ever sung (over three years ago), and for a long time this was my definition of a difficult piece of music. Making this in Mario Paint Composer was comparably difficult.

From an oratorio called Alexander's Feast, the first part of Revenge! Timotheus Cries, like a lot of Handel's music, is fast, bouncy, and in the key of D major. The furies and other monsters have killed most of Timotheus's friends and family, and he has set out to kill them. The second part of the piece is about the Grecian ghosts, who remain unburied and are inglorious on the plain of battle.

This piece is to celebrate my 100 subscribers; thank you all so much! I never expected that when I initially started, back when the Dialga/Palkia battle was new. Really, I'm at a loss for what to say. But I can say is this is the only (or at least the first) part of an oratorio on Mario Paint; I hope you enjoy my first and one of my favorite Handel pieces on Mario Paint Composer.

  • I find it amusing that the tempo for the second part is Largo (40-60 bpm). However, to accurately recreate the theme on Mario Paint Composer, I had to go into 64th notes so the Composer tempo still wound up being 624 bpm (if you do the division, you'll see that the actual tempo is 39 bpm :P).

My first piece's Composer tempo was 380 bpm. I thought that would be the fastest tempo I would ever work with. HAH! It was actually one of the slowest.

  • Great. I subscribed, so now you've got 101. =P Not that I needed to, since I catch your videos anyway, but however I can show support. ;)

  • Thanks. I'm subscribed to your videos, too. ^_^

  • Amazing dude. I actually used this as a memorization tool! hahaha

  • Brilliant!! I wish I could do that! You captured the piece so well, that I could almost hear Bryn Terfel's voice!

  • this combines my music nerdiness and my nerdiness for video games. Handel + Mario Paint = hilarious :D

  • Lol. Strange that this just popped up as a suggested vid to watch cos a couple of years back all the rockers and crims had me so wound up I even went to a church for a bit to try and work out what's what...and called myself "Timotheos" on FB for a bit (the RE teacher at school had said it was the Greek version of my name and said what I meant). Screamed "revenge" much less often than some around me think...it's more a case of screaming "justice" and "sanity ffs" at total nutters.

  • I gotta sing this song for my singing exam.. I really love to sing that , because, it's not easy & when you can sing it cause you practice'd so hard. it's just amazing to sing it then

  • I'm doing this song as a solo for choir, and I really enjoyed listening to this version and watching my score. =-P This is really cool.

  • Good job man.

  • friggen sweet...
