  • May I ask something??

  • @08LiLjosh Yes you may.

  • Why am i not getting the value representing the functions result when I click the return key? All i am getting is this: =VLOOKUP(F5,$A$4:$B$6,G222,FALSE), I can only see the resulting answer when i click Function Argument Icon above. Help?

  • @sxy19154 3rd

argument in your vlookup function, i.e. "G222", should instead be a number, like 2 or 3, that refers to the column that you want returned from the lookup table.

    Hope this helps

  • thanks rdj, i realize that was a typo that i posted, but i am still getting the same result. Is there a value that i should be passing to the Vlookup function? I have written the same samples from your video verbatim =VLOOKUP (F5,$A$4:$B$6,1,FALSE) Formula result = red I have column 2 in ascending order let me know what you think? thanks

  • @sxy19154 You need to select a column other than 1. Try 2 or 3 and you will understand what that argument means. Hope this helps.

  • I have been trying to use vlookup for months now... Microsoft should find a way to promote such kind of videos, otherwise it is impossible to solve such functions by reading help etc. Thanks alot, very useful and I started using it right away in 5 mins..

  • really good video please make more showing different functions I think your commentary was excellent you were not too fast or too slow in my opinion.

  • Thank you!!!

  • You talk to damn slow

  • The interesting thing is that I've taken entire college courses dedicated to Excel and Office as a whole and none of them explained this topic as quickly and as precisely as you did.

  • Thanks for posting this video. This is extremely helpful.

  • Thank you for your video! I cannot imagine at this point how much easier you've made my life! Thanks!!

  • Thank you!!

  • The actual V lookup technique started too late. Too Much of an introduction.

    Moreover, too many foghorns used.

  • Excellent example! This just helped me out tremendously! Thanks

  • It really helps...really. Thanks a lot for making it simple to understand

  • Thank you. Very helpful and easy to understand. This will help me a lot!
