The McCain/Palin Double Talk Express came to Capital University in Bexley, Ohio on September 30, 2008. They were were greeted by Obama supporters. I got the best of both worlds, listening to the stump speeches and then joining the Obama supporters at the end.

Although the sound quality was abominable (sorry, but not really my fault), I do believe I heard Sarah Palin making a veiled call for green collar jobs! She said, "We can achieve energy independence... brought to you by american ingenuity and produced by american workers." She sounds like Al Gore, except that she probably meant that we should replace imported gasoline with domestic coal. (Save that one for when you're down in Southern West Virginia, Sarah.) Not a word about wind or photovoltaics, but it would have been a great opening.

And McCain was eloquent when he said, "A vote for Obama guarantees higher taxes, fewer jobs and even bigger special government." (eh?)

The demonstrators greeted the three thousand who attended the rally. Most people took it in good spirit. One or two middle-aged guys lost their cool, but their wives and children pulled them away. Some of the crowd joined the demonstrators, showing solidarity with peace symbols and hugs.
