I'm still playing with sound balance in this game -- I can't seem to get the in-game vocals muted the way I could with RB1, so I realize it's kind of hard to hear me. I'll see what I can figure out before I do any more.

Well, if you're holding from the previous note, you're going to be activating in bad places - good scores often depend on activating at the last possible moment before the next phrase begins. If you activate at the end of the previous phrase in a wide window, you waste a lot of OD. I've tried starting to sing early but it's not as reliable as the "woo" method.
