To get points, you have to complete the offers. Did you select a "referral" account or a "points" account? The easiest is the referral, because you only need to sign up for one of the offers (I recommend Stamps because you can do it for free, but Blockbuster, Gamefly, and Netflix are good too) - then you only need to get 8-10 of your friends/family to do the same for you to get your iPhone (depending on what prize you select).

With the points account you need to sign up for a bunch of offers.

Also, if you selected the "points" account and decide you'd rather do the "referral" account, you can change it in your settings. I think they allow you to change it only one time though, so be sure before you make the change.

Sorry about that. I meant you don't need a credit card for the iPhone people. So you don't have to worry about them scamming you. Stamps offer is the easiest offer to fill out because they don't charge your credit card until the 4 week trial is over. So basically follow the requirements (download software, install, open, etc.) then wait 3 weeks to cancel the service.

If you don't have a CC you might want to try getting one of those prepaid cards at WalMart to see if that works.
