The Graham G-Men visited the Virginia High Bearcats on September 18, 2009 at Gene Malcolm Stadium in Bristol, VA. The G-Men, who were coming off a bye week, were 0-2. The Bearcats, who were 2-1, were coming off a disheartening 56-23 loss to the Tennessee High Vikings. The G-Men compiled 547 total yards, while the Bearcats compiled 541 total yards. The G-Men led 34-45 with 4:50 remaining in the 4th quarter. The Bearcats cut the G-Men's lead to 40-45 with 3:21 left in the game. On the ensuing kickoff, the Bearcats successfully executed an onside kick. The Bearcats took the lead 46-45 with 1:17 left. On the final kickoff, VHS kicker Ian Frye kicked a touchback, forcing Graham to start on their own 20 yard line. The G-Men moved the ball 52 yards on a 7-play drive. With less than 20 seconds left, the G-Men were dropped for a 5-yard loss and were unable get off another play before time ran out. The Bearcats escaped with a 46-45 victory.
