@SubTachyon I watched this coverage live on a Russian website. About two hours before liftoff, the ground crew was out shoveling the launch pad! The astronaut and cosmonauts arrived wearing hooded ponchos over their spacesuits to keep the snow off.
Since the Russians have been using this launch site since the 1950s, I have a feeling this isn't the first time they've launched in a snowstorm. It went off right on time. They never even called a hold for the weather.
