use these ingame command:
/o igw

then

/o unigpub

If its too good to be true it usully is

Dont give out your real name.
Dont give out where you live.
Dont give out your pass to anyone
(not even your friends)

Youtube diablo 2 scams *(video example)

dont fall for dupe scams
(example of game *i dupe ur stuff)
they will only take your gear

Drop games they have telepickit so when you drop it
with in miliseconds they have it

(patched)
this was an old school scam where you ask a player
to remove all his gear(put in stash) and kill them in act 1 about 20
times then 5 more in another act then the gear in stash
pops at the body this has been patched.

Trade scam
the plays that fall for this scam are usually noobs
because all good players recheck and then check again
the item they are trading for is really the item they
want.

Forcetrade
there is really no way to know if the player has
forcetrade but in general dont put anything expensive
in a trade window because there is a low risk it can get
forcetraded.

The use of social engineering (i am very good at this)
example*
player 1: Hello
Mark: Hi
Player 1: did you know you can check your account status
if you type ./account@uswest(password)status?
Mark: really wow i have to try that ty for the help
player 1: Np XD
Mark:(The mark then types it and shows his pass)
Player 1: (now this player will exit the game and access
your account and dump items in a xfer game.)

Bots that whisper you for secure information are called
scambots dont whisper back

Here is a short from Kevin Mitnick book:
"The weakest link in the secrrity chain is the human element."
"..is still successful today because people are generally helpful especially
to someone who is nice, knowledgeable and insistent."

"people inhereently want to help therefore
they are easily duped"

"they assume a level of trust in order to
avoid conflict."

"Its all about, gaining access to information
that people think is innocuous
when it isn't"

  • "I will die with my password" Dude, if someone wanted to know your password they would. Hacking accounts is the easiest shit ever, get with the times bro.

  • @BonechillinWoW a very strong password is a must and also not running any program you cannot see the source code so you can recompile it yourself. a secure computer is also necessary use bit locker or truecrypt drive encryption with the key stored on a offline media storage divice (usb or external drive). close all your ports so a reverse connection trogen cannot send out syn packets. and have an up to date anti virus software and dont forget use common sense...

  • did you ever get duped?

  • @tdreamgmail when i filled up my friends list on d2 every said they were being dupped and stolen from so i made a list of common social energieng scams they fell for and interviewed hundreds of people who fell for these scams. i dont trust anyone online and ask questions now not later and if im being pressured to do something i just leave. Dont forget no one really has friends online we are all indeed very very alone. its sad this video has low views :( when its a must watch

  • i got an eth Titans Rev from Diablo and i put it up for sale and this dude came in asked me to show him, then he said he does not want it, sat there for like 2 or 3 min then asked me to show again and when i showed a red javelin icon appeared on his trade screen. I got scared and canceled the trade. Does any1 know what he was trying 2 do?

  • @bucifalro ok there was a way (im 90% sure this is patched) that you can send an item image into the trade screen. If they do this ASK THEM TO MOVE THE ITEM. with the exploit it will be in teh upper right hand corner of the trade screen if they cant move the item dont trade with them. what that guy was mostliy trying to do is called "force trade" there is no way to guard agenst it :( but to observe them and if they preassure you to much dont trade with them.

  • @OrionLong people are very stupid and everyone needs a bit of help from time to time

  • @ bucifalro He may have just been showing you another item that he had. I've never heard of a scam like that and i've played for six years.

  • they fill your gear slots but the the explote im talking about is patched that scam you fell for is a really old one and its done in pub duel games all the time and one of the most common.

  • btw teh scam with the person killing u with all ur gear unequipped certain amount of times was not patched completely. I fell for a dupe items game when i first started playing. He killed me 15 or 16 times outside of rogue encampment after i removed all my gear, then he said not to pick up any of my gold or bodies. On the 15th or 16th time, he told me to put my gear on, and when he killed me, my gear popped on teh ground. Nothing worth anything, but just to show y'all what some assholes do
