  • Buy a bottle of Teachers Highland Cream blended Scotch whisky. It's the best affordable Scotch blend. It's not harsh at all, and head and shoulders above other Scotch blends in the same price range. Also check out El Dorado 12yo rum. It tastes like something older than it is.

  • @Polyfusia I'm googleing it right now. I'm big on bottles, and this one looks classy.

  • @Polyfusia I got a bottle yesterday and I like it. It's got a bit more burn than Black Bush, but it's a smooth controlled burn. Very good value.

Wow, that original name sounds like a mouthful...

Originally it was called Old Bushmills Special Old Liqueur Whiskey and since its dark colored and has a black label, bar patrons would ask for the 'black' Bushmills. As opposed to the original white label. So Bushmills eventually changed the name. You have to admit its easier to say than the original name. :)

  • The 10 year Bushmills Single Malt is a killer also

  • @throttlejockey77 I agree, great value for quality whiskey

  • @martinitime1975 I have actually never tried Polish vodka before (though I know that it is generally made from potato, rather than wheat as with Russian variants). When deciding on which kind of vodka to try, I considered Chopin and Belvedere, but both seemed overpriced. As far as I have learned, Russian Standard provides more "bang for buck" than more expensive brands like Grey Goose and Ketel One. However, I will try to get my hands on some Polish vodka in the future.

  • @neosoc Have you tried that Zhabruvka Bison Grass Vodka? I have a Polish family member and he's got my inlaws hooked on it.

  • @Krock45bullet It's absolutely possible to acquire a taste for alcohol. Take me for example: it took me a little while, but by now one of my favorite drinks is Russian Standard vodka.
