This was Stef's very first competition and he entered in the novice 187lbs division. He won gold and we are very proud of him. Thank you to all the great competitors and coaches at the WCMAC 2009 held in Vancouver BC Canada.

  • i dont think he should have entered the novice category

  • Why is that? He had 8 months of training and it was his first competition. He just trains very hard and was better that day than his opponents.

  • the gi match was sick.

but i don't get the captions of the no gi vids.

bronze match?? than he go's to the silver match?

more like quarter finals, semi finals and than championships because whoever looses the championship gets the silver. IDK man it just doesn't make sense.

anyway thanks for posting. i always learn a ton when u guys post. thanks and keep it up guys good job.

  • Yeah, you are totally right (quaters, semi, finals)...I just wrote it that way to understand that he was moving up toward the gold match....its all good

  • hunchback!!!!!!! but gratz man gl on ur next tournys etc

  • Very cool...to the doubters: just cause he was slick doesn't mean he wasn't 8 mnths experienced..."switch the lock on your feet stefan" at 6:50

  • @nt4life depends...for ADCC it's beginner: <6 months....novice, between 6 months and 2 years....stupid i think because someone just under two years is very different than someone just over six months...

  • i wanted to compete but i had a question... there's a novice and a beginner division. could someone explain to me what the difference is??

  • He's very good, for sure. You said 8 months experience? He must have really dedicated himself to preparing for the competition. I'm not sure where that was at, but around my area (East Coast) US Grappling is the only major organization that sponsors these events and their rules are Novice is 7 months or less experience. But, if they allowed it then I think it's perfectly legit. You have to assume that everyone else is stacking thier division too. If not you're just stupid.

  • nice stuff.

  • if it was hes first competition than its ok EOD congratulations

  • he seams a whole lot better than the novices he faced.

im not putting him down, he is very good....he should have started in a harder category than novice, but thats only my opinion

    train hard and good luck,

    -Abe

  • well done very good
