When you slow it down frame by frame you can see the landing, I was unfortunately a good friend and took some steps to help when there was nothing I could have done, I should have just kept filming but oh well. Anyway, we had to carry him a half mile out of the canyon and he needs surgery for a calcaneus.

  • breaking your calcaneous is almost imposible. if you actually broke your calcaneous and nothing else youve done something very special

  • @alexkkowalski This was a friend of mine, he was wearing climbing shoes at the time and I'm sure aided in breaking just his calcaneous which was luckily the only thing broken in the fall.

  • you should have landed on your hands, it would have been cooler! =)

  • If we're going all out how about having just landed in a full on ol' skool break dance style head spin!

  • @alexkkowalski I shattered mine and the Doctors told me the same thing.

  • this is actually so funny i broke mine by jumping out a window...i feel ur pain though

  • wut did u think was gonna happen?

  • Trust fall...

  • Still, he had a lot more talent than the cameraman. Totally missed it.

  • wtf

  • You guys went there to boulder or canyoning?

I broke mine Right foot Calcaneum during boudering, not much height drop maybe 3 or 4 meters( probably around your height of drop). But I landed with legs straight. Unable to roll to break my fall, just use both feet for landing. Fracture have been ruled out for left leg, thank goodness. 6 weeks on wheelchair and now on crutches. Best of wishes to you and all similar cases :)
