  • Its called The Second American Great Depression...

  • with all this advice about how to interview, how to present yourself, how to power handshake, et'c,,etcetcetc, everytime i've stopped listening to this "wonderful" advice and just pounded the pavement, i've gotten work. it all breaks down to types. certain types of people get certain jobs, and if you're not the right type, don't bother. your resume means nothing. especially now, there is so much competition. either they like you or they don't.

    that's what it's really about.

  • @MistyAngel1990 All you got to do is not rely on one job but focus on the thousands of other places that are offering. Jobs are like fish..if you never throw your line out there, you'll never catch anything at all :)

  • richard is in the power of the platform speakers on purpose and I'm blogging about him today - the idea girl says word press - linda randall :)

  • Every Job I apply for I have to register on some board and spend two hours filling out the same information over and over. All of this information is clearly stated on my resume and in my cover letter. For some reason I have to spend two hours filling out a profile knowing I will never get a response. If your going to ignore my resume would you at least be considerate enough to let me just email it to you without wasting two hours of my time.

  • Anyone knows if the Parachute people have a support network for support groups? I am now over 2 years without a job, and I have a Masters degree in Information Systems (computers).

  • Mr. Bolles has more great video at richardbollesworkshopcom

  • If you like to do things well and to your high standard, then look for work the same way. This book is a great place to start, and it also presents some ideas that will serve you well in other areas of life.

If you find it interesting but hard to follow, then attend Bolles' seminar to get it straight from the horse's mouth. Read the book, attended the seminar -- money well-spent. It's not a quick-fix though.

  • CAMO...it came from the 101st...
