Best way to keep people from talking trash about your business is to treat customers well. Don't fear change. Knowledge is power.

This is so going to be targeted by spammers and trolls, not to mention the website owners themselves

What is Sidewiki? Is it the same as Wikipedia?

If you have nothing to hide, why are you afraid of comments? In real life you are also free to comment stuff, if you walk on front of a building you are free to talk to someone and say: "what a beautiful place" or "what an ugly architecture" why should you not be allowed to do it on the web?
There is also the possibility to vote comments and report it as spam to protect the site owner , just like here in youtube.
I am also a site owner and I take the challenge to accept SideWiki!

This was one of my favorite Google Tools!
A real revolution for the web
Why Google decided to stop it?
Maybe I have myself an answer:
Sites owner are not happy of this tool, they want to control comments, to manipulate it, to censure it. A lot of them started a war campaign against SideWiki, claiming that it would be targeted by spammers.
But why should you be scared of such a project if you have nothing to hide?
Even negative-untrue comments are unmasked if not supported by the community.
