Agreed about the swarm armies: my Orks had a long string of victories against the more-Obliterators-than-Jesus Iron Warriors forces you used to see back in the day.

As regards Havocs, I will say that one big advantage they have is the ability to hide the heavy weaponry among normal bolter Marines, whereas if you're shooting at Obliterators, you'll be sure to be damaging a valuable target if you cause damage.

I/ve done the Chosen/Havoc plasma spam, works well vs Grey Knights. Havoc are way cheap vs chosen.

If youre starting an army, basing on a battleforce you should use a 5 man squad havocs with 2 hvy bolters and 2 plasma guns. pretty cheap middle ranged firepower against elite and normal infantry. its just a hint, because many players dont directly have the money for some obliterators.

@AdamShifnal because you could take havocs and and chaosen with 4 special weapons n each unit from different force org slots.
