Call me stupid, and yes I grew up in the 1960's and 1970's, and loved the band Traffic. My question is this, would Chris Wood have been considered the "Jimi Hendrix" on sax of this time period?

My 9 yr old just started playing sax in school.He wasn't very happy because he wanted to play percussion.I've been showing him every cool song with sax in it that I can find.Can't believe I didn't think of this before now.Can't wait to show him what cool really is.........again! This is just awesome.
