Here's the fantastic Spinners performing live How Could I Let You Get Away, with Philippe Wynne doing impersonations of Al Green, Otis Redding, and Sam Cooke.

The Spinners rate as one of the most fantastic groups along with The Temptations, The Four Tops, The Dramatics, The OJays, The Stylistics, The Whispers, The Intruders, Harold Melvin and The Blue Notes, and The Delfonics. They were apart of the golden age of classic soul groups who mesmirized us with their dances, energy, and love songs.

It's Ashame, Rubberband Man, Mighty Love, Could It Be I'm Falling In Love, I'll Be Around, Mighty Love, One of a kind Love Affair, Ghetto Child, Sadie, How Could I Let You Get Away, Then Came You, Games People Play, Love Don't Love NoBody, were among their biggest hits, making them the premier group of the 70's.

  • The SPINNERS are a great example of why acts need to be allowed to grow they didn't hit there stride until they were in their late 30's. and that makes them grow into greatness. I hate today's world of music an old seasoned vet can't get played on the radio. we have destroyed american music through ageism.

  • @seanmg Just to clarify, he absolutely should not have left. Henry mentioned that in the end, he didn't think that Philippe wanted to leave but they had already set the wheels in motion on both sides.

  • I watch this video every morning to get my day started. Makes me feel good all over.

  • On our road trip

  • I just recently started following Phillipe Wynne after watching 'UnSung' and I have to say he was extremely talented. The entire group had nice voices but he had that extra spark (charisma). A few folks on here talking about the 'big head' he had but hindsight is 20/20. It's easy to speak on it 30 years later & say what he should've/could've done but he took a chance. Diana Ross left the Supremes and was very successful.

  • Everybody!-- This performance can be found the "SPINNERS LIVE" album, available to the public. My dad bought it for me in 1975.

  • True Music with meaning!!!!

  • Truly a great song by a great group known as The Spinners.

  • A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away.....must have been wonderful times! Thanks for sharing!

  • @seanmg Why did he leave and go with GC and the boys? All I remember him singing with them was,"Do do do do do do do ants in my pants and I need to dance,I got ants in my pants and I need to dance do do do do do do do do do do do do"...after that I think he died right?

  • The Perfect example of absolutely Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @themastersellers The Ojay's and lot of those groups finally hit their stridein their 30s. Thats why they never broke up. They appreciated the success. Not like today's groups who taste success quick.
