That formed the Caravans that shirley sung with.. this was the Lady that had Rev. James Cleveland as her pianist.. that contrary to popular belief, and mine.. This was the Reining Queen of Gospel Music.. WOW!!! Ms. Walker, was ever so humble and smiled and answered all my questions.. I was young soldier home on leave from Germany. Needless to say, I am indeed a Fan of Ms. Albertina Walker and am so richly blessed these days by her LEGACY left in songs of praise and worship to God. Thx. Ms.Walker

Ms. Walker gave me the biggest smile and said "You got it!!" I had no clue who I was talking to or the Legend that was before me. I could not say I was a fan of hers, but knew some of her songs: not many, but some. I was a big fan back then of Shirley Caesar. I asked Ms Walker all sorta questions about "Shirley" she answered them with a smile. It must have been clear to her I was a big Shirley fan. Man, I had no clue back then that I was talkin to the lady

I, by chance, met Ms. Albertina Walker back in 1989 while waiting to board our plane from midway airport destined for atlanta, ga. I say by chance, as she looked familiar as I sat across from her in the waiting area trying to build the nerve to ask her what her name is. I just knew I knew of her but didn't know where. I asked "I know I know you, can you tell me your last name?" she said "Walker" I said, "ALBERTINA!!!"
