@Eluuna When I go looking for a German SHeperd , I call people who have farm dogs. These dogs are working and they have to have temperment and function. What better test is there. The great thing about the German Sheperd is that it transitions into a great family dog most of the time. Police work, obedience trials and farms are where they are at. Sometimes the show ring dogs start to deviate and lose it.

@attilaclark You know I've noticed that. Every single working breed has been ruined by the AKC... If you want to get a working dog here in the US, they can't be associated with conformation at all. It stinks... because I really want to believe in them; that they are working for the betterment of the breeds. Yet it seems as though they don't really want their dogs to have that working ability to begin with actually..

some of the slope has come from an increase in the muscle over the shoulder but only a portion. I like a square dog. I would be interested in why the AKC forms a standard and then gradually changes the dog from its working class character. They have done this with the cocker spaniel and other breeds. They lose the working quality and then the health problems start. AKc working dogs lose it all.

Just imagine a bridge with a straight construction, it's weak.. Slope or curve construction are stronger and that's what a GSD is all about...

I miss the good ol' days when German Shephersd at Sieger Shows had straight backs and not this horrible slope. But hey - as long as you win the dog shows, who cares? right? :(

I think Hammy zone choose this name because he is not so far from Nazi himself. I am from Russia and do you know what mean his login on Russian it is "bastard from prison" maybe he so affraid about this dogs but dogs are more clevere than somebody.
