Ok, what reason do you have to think that you have the authority of the word of god? why do you believe everything in the bible when there is evidence of errors, forgeries, contradictions, and flat out lie? I never claimed that I was saved, i just thought that i was. However, due to the fact that I do not believe in a God or afterlife, that lines up with me never being saved, cause i dont need to be. but that doesn't mean i wasn't a christian. i was. and you have no evidence that i was not

For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

See it's not enough to confess with your mouth, you MUST believe in your heart.

And if as you said, you did believe and feel the love of God, if you did, there is no way you would be able to say today: I don't believe now.

How do we become saved?

Romans 10:9-10

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Clearly you can see thought they were saved, but were not.

If they were saved at one time only to lose their salvation Jesus could not say: I never knew you, because if they were saved at one time He would have known them.

I use the authority of the word of God.

And you can like it, or dislike it all you like, but it will not change the fact that, if you can say now you don't believe ( you never really believed to begin with. )

I don't know if you care what God's word say's, but I'll show you an example of others who thought they were saved.

@ironcross66106 I'm sorry to inform you that you do not have the authority to establish the legitimacy of someone elses religious experiences. I speak from personal experience telling you I felt something back in the day which I was almost certain was the love of god. i was surrounded by people who say they felt the same thing and they are still Xian. Plus, where do you get this idea from that true believe will not EVER turn away, like its a natural law or something. Evidence?

Of course not.

Anyone who is truly Born again (truly) they will feel the love of God in them, and will not EVER turn their back on the truth.

Because they will know deep within their heart, they would only be turning to a lie.

I know many atheists love the thought that they were once believers

But, now they have opened their minds and have grown out of the dark ages.

It's just the opposite.
