This is incredibly moving. It's never too late to make it right, what a beatiful and inspiring message. I just hope more countries including mine (Canada) can apologize to our Aboriginal communities too.

i'm from germany, so i never heard abaut this before (today it was our theme in the english lesson), but i think this is really exemplary. someone jest had to do that. but this is, i hope, just the beginning, because there are still too much problems. but i have to say: good job Prime Minister Kevin Rudd ! Keep at it!

The whole Commenweath has however, thus a lot of mud in being. Even the queen would have had to apologise how much death it gave in English wars in the history. It is for me still about the question, why the Britten and other Europeans took the right to occur in other countries, and to rob them

what a great moment for history, and not only Australia's. Let's hope heads of states all over the world will follow his example.

it is also fact that they took them off their families to breed the black out of them. so that there would be NO black people in Australia. to wipe out their culture and everything that constituted their being.

412krishna. this is completly beside the point i am white and i have a black grandmother from the stolen generation and she still cries for the loss of her family and the brutality in which they were treated. this is about saying sorry to people who weren't just taken away from their families but were spat on and abused and sexualy assulted because they were seen as nothing more than animals that deserved what they got. THAT is what they are saying sorry for.

Lord Why did you make me Black? Why did you make me someone The world wants to hold back? . ? Black is the colour of a bruised eye When somebody gets hurt. Black is the colour of darkness Black is the colour of dirt. How come my eyes are brown and not the colour of the day light sky? Why do some people see my skin and think I should be abused? Lord, I just don't understand; what it is about my skin?
P.M. Rudd spoke eloquently as a decent, genuine Australian today. Let us honor him and the people of Australia for their courage and decency to say sorry to the aborigines. I felt nothing but respect and admiration for P.M. Rudd and the people of Australia who elected him. I thank you for making this world a little brighter today.
