  • I lived on the Island at the time of the Royal visit in February 1975. The Royce was brought in from the U.S. for the Queen, the only payment to the owner (an American Doctor) was a plaque attached to the interior of the car stating that it had been used for the visit. I understand that it was originally built for Alexander Dubcek prior to his removal from power in Czechoslovakia

  • Thank you so much for your reply. You are the first person we've encountered who was actually there. The car was ordered by the Rumanian government in 1965 and delivered in 1967. By then, Nicolai Ceaucescu had taken power. The government tried to rescind the order for the car, but since it was the most expensive Phantom V ever ordered, they insisted on delivering it. After a little over a year, the Romanian govt. returned the car to RR in exchange for a less opulent model. They sold to Dr Heath

  • There is simply NO motor car in the world that surpasses the regal elegance & splendour of a Rolls Royce Pantom V State Landaulette. If ever there was a car that truly personified Royalty, it would be this car! The Phantom's, in my opinion, possess far more class & style than the ugly offerings of today's so called "limousines", especially the dreadful looking Bentley Sate Car that Her Majesty was given as a gift to celebrate her Golden Anniversary.

  • We couldn't agree more! We love driving this car, and always seem to attract a crowd. CD

  • My dad's from Bermuda, although I'm American because of my mother. I didn't know who the Queen was until i looked up Bermuda on Wikipedia and under Monarch it said Queen Elizabeth II. Since then i have always been interested to learn about the Queen.

  • Actually, Clinton will be the last president to have protection for life.

  • GOD SAVE THE QUEEN!

  • YogaNate79, are you paid to say all this nonsense? Now, if you don't mind, let us admire a divine specimen of a car...

  • i have joined the Rolls Royce club here in the uk

  • I think the president of the US needs that kind of security.

  • As handsome as this car is, my faves are the Phantom IV(Franco's, esp.) & Silver Wraith Touring Limo by HJM.

  • I would still feel safer in the President of the United State's motorcade, "Cadillac One" over the Queen of England's motorcade.

30+ cars and an ambulance that carries the President's blood type. And then there are decoy limosines to throw off potential terrorists and would be assassins. Not to mention, the American President is armed to the teeth and better protected than The Queen is since he has Secret Service protection for life.
