  • how come when i push my test button my flash goes off but not when pushing the shutter...help!!!

  • @BisforBirth

what cam are you trying it with. Canon Nikon? are the triggers you got for your cam? Not sure about others but if you get them for Nikon or Canon they are not the same they have one set for Canon and one for Nikon.

  • hi, this is great video for a beginner like me.

A question here, let say I have 2 units of Nikon's flashes, and both of them attached to hot-shoe-wireless-trigger, can I fired a flash by using a trigger on my canon's body?

  • Hi,

     Yes you can..

  • Hi, in the video you said that you choose to run the eBay trigger through the hot shoe instead of via the PC sync chord. It will make the flash too high for proper use with an umbrella - as you say in the part 2.

Doesn't a normal flash (like the Vivitar 285HV) come with a chord that runs from the flash to your camera or, in this case, the receiver? You could use the eBay triggers as Pocket Wizards and have them hanging on the side instead of being stuck under the flash. Is is possible? thanks

  • Ya sure you can run it like that. You have the extra cost of the sync cord but it will work.

  • Thanks for sharing the info. I was waiting a while for more information about actual off-camera flash... perhaps this video might be more aptly titled "connecting your camera to your flash for off-camera flash."

  • Question for you- I have a Canon t2i camera and a Lumpro LP160 flash. The flash works by itself and when I connect the flash to my camera via miniphone jack to the hotshoe on my camera it flashes right when I plug it in. But after it's plugged in I can't get it to go off with the shutter. Any suggestions?

  • My 60d has a wireless transmitter but how do I know what flash will work with it?

  • @jvdude0 yes it's called a slave unit. You attach it you flash and when the slave unit detects your in camera flash it triggers your external flash. You can buy entire studio strobe sets for under 100 dollars

  • hi, is there a wireless transmitter that allows u to use ur off camera flash (wireless) and ur built in flash at the same time?

  • So incredibly helpful. I was lost as to how I was going to connect my Sb-600's until watching this. I didn't know they made a device like that (I can't afford PocketWizard). The eBay one's worked great for me. Only the occasional misfire.

  • THANK YOU!! I was going to buy a mono flash head and now I don't have to! You are the man! Thanks a lot

  • keep your bloody feet still!

  • is it all the flash triggers won't work if you don't set to manual mode?

  • @zool1on i have a canon t2i not sure i got the trigger in a studio packagae off ebay no directions or names on anything except firfly name on my softbox.
