Pat lives in a small apartment near Cape Canaveral, Florida with a large group of ill-mannered roommates. Theyre not up to much, on what feels like one of the hottest days of July. Pat is playing inside of his colorful cardboard box. The box is decorated as a rocket ship and Pat holds a toy space man up to his eye. As he plays with the toy astronaut the biggest roommate / bully, Luke decides to entertain himself by tormenting poor Pat. The roommates join in soon after and they abuse on Pat until finally Pat pushes a button on his box that transforms it from an ordinary cardboard box into a real life rocket ship! When all the smoke is settled and the final flames are forced out Pat finds himself on the moon but not alone. He is greeted by an eccentric group of welcoming aliens and an annoying bug. Upon acceptance from the new alien roommates, Pat learns to squash the annoying alien bug along with all his other worries that once occurred in his previous life on Earth.
