Paul Newman is such an amazing actor!!! This movie is so beautiful and I love the way it was shot. Superb actors, great script, and gorgeous cinematography, this movie is a must see!!! :)

I was born the same year color of money was released (1986). So naturally having a soft-spot for 80's movies I had seen it. I found out that it was more or less a sequel to the hustler and decided to check it out on netflix the other night. I blown away from the performances in this movie, already liked cool hand luke, but this might be my favorite newman movie. I like how piper lauries character looks similar to tom cruise GF in color of money. I found lauries character very to be alluring-sexy

This scene explains why Fast Eddie Felson made a comeback to playing pool in The Color Of Money.It explains how much pools means to him and how it has become a part of his life.It wasn't primarily because of Vincent Lauria (Tom Cruise) but because of Fast Eddie's feelings about pool.

To me this fim is one of the great American "plays" of the 20th century--shot for the big screen instead of being acted onstage. If it hasn't been adapted for Broadway it should be as they wouldn't have to change a word of the brilliant screenplay.

These kinds of productions were big on TV and in film back then, and Newman starred in several others, called Teleplays, when he was starting out in the early days of TV.

Another great teleplay was Marty which was adapted for the big screen.

Paul Newman is, well, Paul Newman and one runs out of adjectives, but Piper Laurie in this movie was beyond belief. Also I used to be a helluva shot pool shot before my eyes gave out.
