Only an idiot would buy a car or house right now. All they are are funnels for government revenue, in many forms. To learn about AFFLUENZA. Type it into You Tube search. Get your eyes opened!
The car industry is dead, we just don't fully realise it yet. And not just the American one either, but globally. The simply isn't the energy available to keep the private car as a viable future. I'd give the private car paradigm 20 years maximum before it completely caves in on itself.
The United States needs to get mass transit enabled and high density, walkable cities in place and do it fast. The housing crisis could be a blessing in disguise in that respect.
Get them over the hump, and then let the market takeover?
This is the market taking over...
And how long will this hump last? People can't afford to make their payments now, and yet Washington's plan is for people to borrow more and pay more.
Only the government has the power to continue to live beyond it's means. The only way past this hump, is for the government to buy these vehicles and give them away.
