I used the Marshall channel on all a parts, and the pentode channel on all b parts.
Part 1a: 0:00 clean
Part 1b: 1:15
Part 2a: 2:15 crunch
Part 2b: 3:06
Part 3a: 3:53 raw
Part 3b: 4:53
Part 4a: 5:53 heavy
Part 4b: 6:53
Part 5a: 7:53 awesome solo!
It's an 15W tubeamp I built myself. It has a pentode channel with an EF86 just like an old VOX AC15. It also has a Marshall channel, a mix of a Plexi and a JCM800. The tone controls aren't very important, the placement of the mic is much more important. Gain settings: at part 4 & 5 full gain, and the master volume on 1 all the time exept for the last part. Here, the master is on 3 and the gain on 10. The master volume knob is very sensitive, it was on full power all the time. The guitar I used is an Hagstrom Super Swede, a Les Paul model. I played on the bridge pickup all the time, exept for the first part.

  • thanks! Yesterday I found out why the marshall channel had so little bass, I didn't connect the earth of the tonestack. Now it sounds fatter and much better!

  • hello friend... usually i think the amp marshall are too much "brilant" and are not for metal, they should be used with a fender for other kind of music. i have an power amp peavey classic 50 50 wich el84. wich kind of sound give me the el84? thx!

  • with 6l6's I've experienced thunderous bass power bus EL84 don't have that although when overdriven, EL84's are very loud. Then they have that agressive yell, but not too harsh, like the last part. EL84's are clean very beautiful, don't put out a lot of power in my experience. If you're playing clean in a bar or cafe, you really need to mike it. In overdrive, it blows your head off.
