Khaya Dlanga: Africa's top Digital Citizen Journalist in 2008; award winning advertising executive; one of 100 most influential people in South African media; Financial Mail's Adfocus New Broom award 2009; 6.5 million views on YouTube.
Khaya talks about the importance of creating a narrative that represents who you are or who you want to be.

About TEDx, x = independently organized event

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

  • Hahaha, is that first video you talk about the response to Billy Reid's "I'm Typing LOL"?

  • Ediela wants a seal of nova

  • What a crock a shit. typical of you. The narrative of who you are, are a racist shit.

  • Ok, you told me to participate. You'll be responsible for making people waste 2 minutes of their precious life listening to the stupid song I made. I really didn't want to do that, you made me do it.

  • stick it to the man khaya :D

  • I remember hearing that Obama responded to Khaya, and that caused me to doubletake. I live in Dallas Texas. When I learned Obama gave a moment to answer a question of someone in Africa that I like, someone I find interesting or that I "bought into" as Khaya put it, that actually almost changed my mind. If I had voted, it woulda been for Obama, largely because of Khaya's question & Obama's answer. No one can know how many Americans actually did vote for Obama because of Khaya's question.

  • Brilliant khaya. you're amazing. congradulations...

  • Congrats Khaya, I hope you had fun in your FIRST ted talk.

  • love ya ^ ^
