This is a demonstration of Evas (the enlightenment canvas library) running on WebOS using the new SDL library available on versions 1.3.5 and higher. Evas is a highly optimized, object-oriented and hardware accelerated canvas library that can run on a wide variety of platforms and devices, and is the graphical foundation for the E17 desktop environment. This demo runs using SDL but Evas also supports OpenGL ES as a graphics backend (which should take full advantage of the Palm Pre's PowerVR SGX).

This is a pretty cool tech demo. I never really cared for enlightenment's usability but I haven't tried it ages. I could see this being used to make some cool applications though, but I expect most 3D apps we will be getting will be ports of existing ones.
