Thomas Paine's writings (i.e., The Age of Reason, etc.) explain Deism and the ability to think beyond the brainwash we were so impaled with at such an early age that it constitutes a "mental rape." Perhaps you have not read his works. He kept a low profile during his life...for fear of being murdered by the Christians.

Yes, I say Xmas. As a Deist (belief in the natural God evidenced by science and nature), I am tired of having the mythical Jesus shoved down my throat. It's time for true freedom of religion and not a Government endorsed religion (i.e., George Bush and Christianity). Our founding fathers (Thomas Jefferson, etc.) were Deists.

@Circle4Success Interesting that you say Xmas because a gentleman that I attend church with told us that Xmas is a christian reference, and he knows his bible very well. The only thing I would add to this is that republicans are no better than democrats. So if you think republicans care about you then you have no clue about the realities of politics in this country. Both parties work together behind the scenes to screw us over. I love this country also and I was born here also, but our leaders for the most part could care less about you and I and most americans. Do some research on the NWO if you think your republican leaders work for us. Merry Christmas.

@timestandingstill I dont do drugs and I apologize for insulting you. If your religion helps you in life then so be it. I wont tell you otherwise. But I dont believe in a god because everything around me contradicts it. Science, archeology, Paleontology, etc.

To me those Psalms are just poems and metaphors written down by man. The ten commandments are no more miraculous then Hammurabis law codes.
