I think one of the best ways to ensure that your business is going to perform at a high level is by recruiting the best people. You know, that I think is fundamental to any recruiting process. My own feeling is that if you want people to perform at a high level, you should perform at a high level for them, and to me that starts with the very first contact. And in this case, with all of these people coming into our company, their first contact is when they go online, search a position, apply for it, and hit 'Submit'. It's very important that that process in itself is professional, easy to use, intuitive. In this case, Taleo is all of those things.
The moment that the candidate hits the 'Submit' button on their application, they do get an auto-reply that's actually personalized for that person; it's not a blanket generic auto-reply that says "Dear Candidate"; it actually says "Dear John Smith" and you can customize those auto-replies in any way that you'd like. I think, first of all, one of the first things that candidates want to know is "Was my information received?" This lets them know instantly that their information was received, and depending on the text that you choose to put in the auto-reply, you can tell them what happens next. As a side benefit to this, depending on what wording you put in there, you can significantly reduce the amount of re-contacting—"I'm just checking up on my application" and these sorts of things. And for anybody in recruiting, you know that this is a very big time consumer.
From that point, there are a number of tools within Taleo that allow you to communicate with the candidates either succinctly to that candidate or blanketly to any number of candidates based on any kind of criteria that you deliver, whether it's by the specific job posting or all candidates in the system. Again, it's possible to send mass e-mails that are personalized per candidate. So again, the efficiency is fantastic, but again this presents your company in a professional manner, raises the bar to a level that I think any company should strive for, you know, in terms of quality communication and sets the bar to where—showing what we expect of the candidates back from them. So for me, this has been one of the biggest benefits of Taleo is just the professionalism that it allows back and forth between the candidate and the recruiters.
