  • i've been to two dentists & neither does any but the most simple cleaning/filling & want to pass me to some sort of "specialist" who will sedate me with a shot in my arm! what's up with that? i never had a problem with local anaesthetics but BIG problems with general ones! i wish i could find a dentist in my area who was like these wonderful, kind-sounding ones i've been seeing on youtube! in the meantime i've been procrastinating so if you read this & you're a Christian, please pray for me! (:D

  • @InnerMittenSignal Thank you for your kind words. I wish you well!

  • I'm scheduled a week from now to start having my crown made. In the mean time, I just chew on the opposite side of my mouth, and don't brush my teeth too hard over the temporary filling. The root canal dd cost about $1000. The crown costs about 400. My insurance will cover about 70% - 80% of all costs. The rest will come from HSA savings. Hope all this was helpful. (Part three)

  • I took Ibuprofen every 3-4 hours yesterday went to bed and had zero pain or discomfort all day. This morning i woke up with very minor irritation. Very minor bruise feeling. I haven't gotten around to my Ibuprofen yet today, but that will probably take care of it. My Endodontist prescribed Vicodin for me, but at this point, I do not think I am going to take it. Not needed. (Part two)

  • It is now 24 hours after my first root canal. I was nervous. After Novocaine, my Endodontist starting drilling - I stopped him due to minor irritation. He then administered two more Novocaine injections close to the tooth. Once he continued with drilling, I felt NOTHING but pressure. The entire procedure was no more painful than a normal filling. Actually - my last filling a month ago caused more nerve pain than this. (Part one)

  • @DrJerryGordon .. May I ask a question...does undergoing root canal treatment hurts or do you give anesthesia to the patient?? and how long this treatment last?

  • I had the first part of mine done yesterday... got to get the rest done next month and I am scared as I hate dental injections

  • People it doesnt hurt at all! Once they numb the tooth you wont feel a thing. The only pains you will have a some soreness after the root canal and the shot ( may hurt) Im 14 and i just got it today

  • thank you! just got mine done. but i had no idea how it looked because i cannot peek. haha. but mine was nicely done as this :)

  • @JustinHambrick has the numbness worn off yet? lol i had mine today also and the numbness just wore off. I am in quite the exquisite pain here. Lol

  • I had to get a root canal when i was 13. it took 2 and a hlaf hours and hurt like hell!!
