I bought this washer on the 15th December 2011, but now it has started to make knocking noises. Is this normal!!! It seams to knock only sometimes when the drum starts turning or during a slightly unbalanced spin cycle. I have just noticed that the drum sinks when it is adding water as if it really heavy but that could just be what it does since I haven't had it long. The washer feet are balanced and the transit bolts are removed. I will do more videos if you want to help solve this problem. Please Help!

It is a Samsung Ecobubble wf1804wpu

Broken shocks or bearings????

  • Yeah it may be what DIHORY said about power going to the heater (I assume he meant heating element)...What did you have before the Samsung?

  • @Amingr The Samsung has a durable ceramic coated heater?. My old machine was a Hotpoint Ultima wmd940. There are some videos of my old ultima on my channel.

  • that knocking is fine, mines done it since brand new, 2 and half years later, shocks still are the best,

  • @whichwasher2007 Thank you, I bet they are quite expensive to fix, thanks for commenting

  • In Feb 2012 I bought a Samsung WF350AN washer. I have lots of problems with the spin cycle. The drum will turn slowly to the left as it tries to "center" the load". Then it can't center the load, so the drum stops and turns slowly to the right. It does this for about half an hour and the end result is that it didn't spin and my clothes are soaking wet. I have to wring them out by hand. I can't believe Samsung brought this piece of garbage on to the market and shame on Sears for selling it.

  • That said, it may be a massive build up of limescale - powder limescale remover on a boil wash may help with the crunching and whining. But still have it looked at!

  • You have overloaded it big time previously. Motor is Knackered and the bearings sound off - repair or replace!

  • @DIHORY so it may be the same with my BOSCH, I keep hearing the same tapping noise as if the drum is touching on something; it doesn't do it during the spinning though, only when the drum is loaded and tumbling...I should have bought a Siemens or Miele.....

  • NO NO NO-I WILL TELL YOU EXACTLY WHAT THIS FUCKING NOISE IS, MINE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM! THIS NOISE IS MADE BY YOUR HEATER COIL WHICH IS LOCATED BEHIND THE WASHING CAVITY OR WHATEVER YOU CALL IT. WHAT HAPPENS IS THAT POWER IS BEING SENT TO THE HEATER AFTER WATER WAS DRAINED OFF AND HEATER IS TOUCHING THE SPINNING CAVITY/POT. IT IS AN ELECTRIC PROBLEM, GOT MINE FIXED BY AN ELECTRICIAN. I HAD THIS MACHINE 5 YEARS, NUMEROUS PROBLEMS WITH IT, ENDED UP THROWING IT IN THE GARBAGE. NEVER BUY SAMSUNG!

  • The only noise resembling a knocking sound is that of the motor changing direction of rotation and 'taking' electricity in, it's perfectly normal. Mine makes the same sound and is by Zanussi.
