This is my cover of the ZZ top Tune La grange, one of my faves. Billy Gibbons has been a Big influence on my playing...he is a true blues man, the real deal.
I'm using a Gibson Custom Les Paul Standard 58 VOS Reissue 2010 in a limited run "Butterscotch" plain top...one of less than 25 made and distributed in that finish to Canada as a promotional thing for YorkVille month at a local music store in Alberta canada.
This is just an improvization of mine...

Cheers!

  • you are a very good player! great technique! I saw you in another video holding the ibanez gem..Do you still have it or have you sold it for getting this gibson? I have a gem also and i am thinking of selling it and geting a les paul traditional.. comparing the gibson with the gem which one you prefer..there are total different guitars i know, but i am just asking if you liked the one more the other?

  • @Vaish57 the jem 7v is an awesome guitar...wish i had kept it...it's great for the fast shreading stuff...i don't do much of it so I traded it for something I would get more use out of. I love les pauls...i would personally rather a les paul for the style of music that i like over the jem. But those jems rock!If i were you...i would hold on to it and try to save and get a gibson if you are able to...if you are a one guitar kind of guy..then do what makes you feel better about it all...Thanks man

  • this is damn good playing my friend......Ive got a 58 reissue tobaccoburst myself and that sounds killer to.Bur can you explain to me what a Butterscotch is?

  • @MrWarensemble is was a part of a promotional thing at a local musical instrument dealer here in canada...they made so many in butterscotch....thats the only difference...

  • @MrWarensemble by the way, thanks man!

  • this is awesome cuz, u came pretty close with the tone, it almost sounds like the real thing, 5 stars, awesome!!!

  • you really captured the vibe of this classic tune, fantastic job mate.

picking up my 58 vos on tuesday,i cant wait.

  • Fantastic video, congratulations. Please can you tell me what gear you are using to get that grind? It's the closest I've heard yet, greasy but so smooth and clear.

  • thanks for the advice man! appreciated it. Keep making beautiful music and all the best.

  • Love your playin. You really rip it up. How long have you been playin?

  • Well if you call that "an improvization" I'd like to hear you playing something you actually "trained". I really love your playing and you are a real source of inspiration and motivation for myself. Awesome.
